quantitative research is when your research involves numbers or statistics, qualitative is when your research is about characteristics or qualities.

Quantitative research is when you're just trying to get as much research as possible. Qualitative research is when you're trying to get the best quality (or best results) from your research.

The things which are measure in the term of mathematics it's known as quantitative and which are measure in not the term of the mathematics is known as qualitative.

You need to be more specific about what field you are referring to. For example, in production industry. Qualitative, it deals about the quality of your product, the materials they use. While quantitative, it deals about quantity. Some of the producers prefer quantity because the more volume of products, the more profit and they disregard quantity for their company sake.

"Qualitative: Description with your own point of view: Description with numbers, exact.

ex: the table is blue; that would be qualitative data, because another person mite disagree and say it was red. all though if i measured the table and said it was 42cm, that would be quantitative, because im using numbers and its an exact measurement."
