I am planning to open a directory.

SO Besides putting featured links or sponsored link, Is there any good advertisement that can be add in the directory so that I can earn decent amount when someone clicks or make sales or something??

The best way to earn from a directory is to put up charging for adding premium or special links in your directory but you should always make the regular links free and also you can add any regular ppc ad on your site, adsense or yahoo ypn.

ive also found that syndicated news feeds or any other type of relevant feed to your directory's specific theme is a good way to monetize and add valuable content.

Check out TheNewsRoom.com, they pay around .50 CPM for each feed (you can have 3 per page of your site)

You can sell some links If you have high PR also you can have special offers on the paid listings and contests.

I would start with adding adsense to the directory as it the most popular and widely used way to make money out from directories and other places.
