Banner for my site?

I have made a banner for my site, and I'm looking forward to paste them on my blogs and other site where I plan to email the Admin.
But my problem stays, where can learn how to make that linking codes with my banner in it? Where would I place my banner to make them visible on the site that I've posted and redirect them to my site when they clicked 'em? Please help.
