Default 110mb as your webhost
I actually host my site using free webhost, specifically in 110mb. where they offer free webhost, but if you need mysql, thats where you got to shell out some bucks.

Now, do you think my site is safe with them? my greatest fear is that if I'll have more than enough traffic, something might happen to my unexpectedly where I will be required to pay.

your site as i think would be safe there....
i think its the most popular in layered control panel hosting sites and they are hosting many sites currently..
i have too taken hosting from them in one of my sites...everything is good till now.
Just u will have to pay if u want to have your own email@yourdomain.com

110mb is really good free and reliable free host. But they dont support SMTP and fantastico in free hosting. And bacause of this I dont link 110mb. Atleast they must give SMTP.

you can go for freeweb7.com and 12gbfree.com also. They prvide a lot of space and you can also setup your own database via it. They offer 5 MySql database for free and you can very well use its free services for that.
