I've been doing those with my previous blogs, but I don't seems to get that. When I check my links, still remains the same as ever no matter how many post I did with some forums with my link on my sig.

Can anyone confirm these?

^^ Most often backlinks that you expect to be there while checkin using link command, do not appear as in case of google. so no need to worry about google, if the page on which your website link resides, is cached by google then you need not to worry about the link being shown or not by google, but in actual it has been counted internally by google, and you might not be aware of it.To see all the back links to your website use google sitemap

They really do not show up sometimes but would be counted in serps. but Some site which is not that popular you will not get any backlink. try posting on sites that has PR on its pages and threads like DP And you will see your links grow.

Try checkin back on http://www.backlinkwatch.com

They pick up nearly every backlink, forums etc!

Many people use them!
