PayPal Vs ?

I am wondering is there anything out there that works better than PayPal? I have been very mad at Ebay and I do not want anything to do with those two. They are affiliated company's and they get too much money as it is. I received a paycheck online that was less than 20 dollars and they charged me almost a dollar. That is really pathetic. I wish I could just find something better.
