I wonder why and how could paypal be able to capitalize on their market lead and even the checkout offered by google could not even shake paypal in the market share. I want to know what makes paypal so special so as to make them the undependable companion for online money transfer, etc

Its because paypal is easy to use and no need to pay any upfront fee to join and transferring is damn easy and has been used everywhere.

Moreover paypal can be linked with ur ebay account as they both r associated... Ebay buyers may be finding secure to pay via paypal.
