Yahoo and Aol going to merge?

Heard from some sources that there have been some rumors going around that yahoo and aol is going to merge soon. Is it really true, anyone knows about it clear explain it here. I feel that it would have been a greater merger than yahoo with microsoft which would have made the competition between google, yahoo, and microsoft dampened!
